Working with Mallarmé chamber ensemble to present a residency to Asheville school students on Langston Hughes in October 2005. Videmus and Mallarmé will collaborate in 2006 to bring the program to Pitt and Wake counties.
Partnered in 2002 with Pitt and Wake county schools, Suzuki Association, Music Teacher’s Association, teachers, East Carolina University School of Music and First Presbyterian Church to present a week long residency of the Coleridge Taylor String Quartet from Boston, MA. They worked with all middle school string students to learn about the chamber music of William Grant Still. Students worked in small quartets coached by the ensemble and learned some of the repertoire of Still. They also presented a public chamber concert of music influenced by Still.
